Services

Midtown Eye Care provides, but is not limited to, the following eye care services:

  • Comprehensive eye exams. We use a high resolution retinal photo system to complement the dilation drops. It may also be used if you are unable to have the dilation done that day if you need to go back to the office, or drive a long distance, for example.

  • If you have diabetes or high blood pressure, you should be getting your eyes dilated every year.

  • Contact lens evaluations for new and current wearers, for successful wearers and also people who have a more difficult time wearing contacts due to discomfort or dryness, for the routine to the most complex refractive needs (including keratoconus and other similar corneal dystophies, post-surgery, soft/rigid hybrid lenses, monovision, bifocal/multifocal contact lens fits and other custom designed lens products.

The doctors at Midtown Eye Care can take care of most medical eye care visits as well, and are very easily accessible regarding emergency visits and walk in exams. No reason to wait hours to be seen at another office or wait days for an appointment while your eyes may become more irritated! The sooner the issue is addressed, the sooner you will start feeling better.

Call and talk to one of our Doctors or staff members if you have any special needs or requests. We are here to help YOU!! 404-897-5767

Dr Barnes has been fitting a wonderful new lens that helps very severe cases of Keratoconus, moderate to severe dry eye issues and extremely irregular corneas (usually post-surgical, after corneal transplants from advanced keratoconus or trauma for example). These lenses are called Scleral rigid gas permeable lenses. This lens can get the most distorted vision clear. They are for those rare patients that a normal smaller RGP will no longer work, keeps popping out, becomes uncomfortable or just generally less successful. There are few Doctor's in the Atlanta area fitting the lens:

  • Refractive surgery consultations and co-management , providing both pre-op and post-op exams. We are very excited about new technology regarding multifocal/bifocal lens implants that are now available. These implants can allow you to see at both distance and near without wearing glasses or bifocals anymore! There is also a better option now for those who are farsighted. The new 'Allegretto' laser has been far better than previous options. Please ask about the newest technology available now! The Woolfson Eye Institute also does our cataract surgeries as well as most other general ophthalmology procedures.

  • Treatment and/or management of Glaucoma, Cataracts, Infections, Red Eyes, Allergy Eyes, Dry Eye therapy (including Lacrisert, punctal plugs,FreshKote and Restasis), keratoconus, Latisse- and removal of superficial foreign bodies for those weekend warriors!
